The Dong-A International Music Competition is established by The Dong-A Ilbo and The Il-Min Culture Foundation with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges among nations through the music and supporting talented young musicians from all over the world.
The Competition will be held yearly for the categories of piano, violin, and vocal, one category for each competition. The second Competition, in 1997, will be held in Seoul for the violin category as follows:

Notification of Acceptance: August 27 (Mon)
First Stage: November 28 (Wed) ~ 29 (Thu)
Second Stage: December 1 (Sat) ~ 2 (Sun)
Semifinal: December 4 (Tues)
Final: December 6 (Thu) ~ 7 (Fri)
Ceremony of Awards: December 7 (Fri)
