She earned her bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in composition from Seoul National University and later studied composition and music theory at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. Ater serving as an assistant professor of composition at Keimyung University, she is currently a professor of composition at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. Her music spans a wide range of styles, including works rooted in both Western music and Korean traditional music. By exploring the potential of Korean traditional instruments and reinterpreting traditional music in a contemporary context, she has developed a distinctive musical language that bridges the creative worlds of East and West. Through collaborations with artists from various disciplines – such as painting, sculpture, and dance – she continues to broaden her artistic horizons. Cho\u2019s works have been performed at major international festivals, including the Ultraschall Festival for New Music in Berlin, the Wittener Tage f\u00fcr neue Kammermusik, the Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music, Music Today 21 in Tokyo, the Musical Olympus International Festival in St. Petersburg, and the Arcana Festival in St. Gallen, Austria. Her compositions have been presented by leading ensembles and orchestras such as the Modern Art Sextet, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble InterContemporain, Ensemble Recherche, the Arditti Quartet, Tokyo Sinfonietta, WDR Symphony Orchestra, SWR Symphony Orchestra, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie(DRP), National Orchestra of Belgium, State Hermitage Orchestra of St. Petersburg, Ural Philharmonic Orchestra, Jan\u00e1\u010dek Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
